The Lisa Card: Never Leave Home...with it

Do you even have to ask what me or anyone else will be blogging about today? Confessions, DUH.

I confess:

- I almost bought these pens yesterday but then I got a reality check and told myself I didn't need to spend $12.00 on pens. But I'm still thinking about them so I might as well get them. I can't help it that these are the best colored pens on the planet and they don't bleed through paper.  You can also buy these in your local AC Moore, Hobby Lobby or Michael's or whatever craft store you have near you....not that I'm speaking from experience or anything...

- My spending is out of control.  See above for example. I'm almost as bad as Lisa Turtle after she got good grades on her report card and her dad let her use his credit card. And don't ask me if I went through this* the other day...

-On a more serious note, poor Peanut is still sick. Remember when she had an eye infection? Well two weeks later, now she has an upper respiratory infection.  She's such a strong little girl but each day I am getting more worried.  I'm quite pissed, so while we are confessing I might as well tell you the story:

  • The constant sneezing started on Thursday July 3. I didn't want to be that mom and call the vet that day so I had figured that I would phone them Saturday if she was still sneezing since obviously they were closed for the 4th.  It just so happens to sneezed her poor little heart out all day Friday, and I barely got any sleep, nor did she Friday night into Saturday.  I called the vet and gave them the message that was going on.  About an hour later, I got a phone call back saying: "Give her the lysine treats (they keep feline herpes virus at bay aka they figured it was allergies) and monitor her over the rest of the weekend and give us a call Monday".  So basically, they felt as if Peanut's CONSTANT sneezing since THURSDAY was not an emergency. Fine. I get it.  Well, again all night Saturday she was up sneezing and of course I go into panic mode so I turn to google to start searching "my cat won't stop sneezing".  You don't want to know the results I found.  Needless to say that led me to find a vet that is open on Sundays, regardless of cost about 15 minutes away from me.  I phoned them in the AM and I had an appointment set for 40 minutes later. (And the bill wasn't that expensive so yay)
  • End of story: Peanut had a fever and she has a really bad upper respiratory infection. I got medicine for her and the sneezing has subsided a little but she still is having issues breathing due to her nose being so stuffed up.  I am going to continue giving her the medicine but if this doesn't clear up by Wednesday, back we go to the Vet.
  • Do you think my previous vet ever called me to check on her? No. Bad move. I'm reconsidering switching vets because of this.
-I really want new outfits for Vegas because it makes me cringe when I take photos and have on repeat outfits. Yes, I'm a #spoiledbrat and I went shopping last weekend. Sadly, none of these beauties came home with me:

-Speaking of Vegas, I was really, REALLY excited to see that David Copperfield will be playing while I'm out there.  But the reviews were horrible. Does anyone remember that time he made a plane disappear on stage? Oh, you didn't watch those TV specials back in the day? Lucky for you, here it is below. The quality is superb BTW.

And that about wraps up my confessions this week.

P.S. that asterisk up above??

Um... yeah.

Confessions of a Pee-a-holic

I recently bought new undies from Target (shockingly) and I love them.  I got the Xhilaration and Gilligan & O'Malley brands.  Some of the Xhilaration ones are total garbage, and then some, like these are just awesome. They are so soft and I give them snaps for being way better than any of that Victoria's Secret over priced shit (that falls apart after two washes).  Anyway, so right now I'm wearing the so-called "Hipsters" but they are one size too big, and just giving me a major wedgie. And the cotton isn't really pairing too well with the dress I'm wearing right now. So I'm rather frustrated but at least they are soft on my bum and that's what counts, right?

---what a nice way to start a blog post, talking about UNDERWEAR---

I seriously have issues when it comes to hair.  I think my hair has changed in about 5 different ways in the last year alone.  I'm currently in the phase of re-growing my hair out again, because I really miss the easiness of a pony tail. Don't get too worried though, I'm keeping it around shoulder length. I've come to the conclusion, and I know I've def said it on here before, I will never have that pinterest, celebrity, beautiful wavy long hair. Right now I'm really reallllly tempted to try the ombre (I still love it), but I'm worried it will look stupid on short hair. What do you think? Please answer in the comments below!! I value everyone's opinion.

All pictures have been found via Pinterest.
I didn't go to the gym Monday or yesterday. I'm upset with myself but my legs were sore as hell from my run Sunday night and doing the TIU bikini series workouts. I will work out today.

I have two watches (gold and tortoise shell) that are no-namers, and completely broken, but I still wear them anyway because they look good.

I have a $200 gift card to a mall burning a hole in my pocket since Christmas. Any suggestions on what to get? I also may have been putting off going to said-mall because A) I have to pay a toll to get there, B) it's only convenient to go straight from work and C) someone was MURDERED there during Christmas time. Thanks boss. #imsuchawhineybitch

Why is it that some days when I have a 16oz coffee I don't have to pee and other day's I go every hour on the hour? Small bladder problems. Wah. If you haven't guessed, today is one of those days I'm getting great exercise walking across the damn building to get to the LR.

It's only been 5 days since a beautiful little peanut was born and I already miss her and need to see her.  I know I need to give her mommy & daddy space and time to enjoy these moments but I want to snuggle and pinch her cheeks! Oh, and I also have appointed myself as Isabella's Fairy Godmother.  I did after all learn to perform magic with Sabrina the Teenage Witch's Magic handbook.

Okay, now that I've gotten my funnies out of the way, here is a confession that I also want to hear everyone's thoughts, opinions and stories.

Like no joke, me and Michael are legit an old, married couple (after 2 years).  I'm so annoyed lately because we come home, sometimes eat together, and then he goes and watches TV in one room, and I, in the other (I can't help that my current obsession is Drop Dead Diva and I happen to love my living room set up).  So that goes on for 2 hours or so (we eat dinner by 7 because we both work far from home) and we are literally exhausted. I go to bed between 9-930 and he stays up late, or goes to the gym.

I'm pissed off that marriage isn't like a fairy tale, or a movie. But am I wrong for constantly wishing I had a movie-like marriage?  Deep down I know that it's wrong to expect your marriage to be like a movie, I know this doesn't exist, but is it wrong to want it to?  For the record, Michael is my best friend, and we NEVER fight.  I know this is hard to believe, but with a smile like his, it's really hard to get angry, or stay mad at him! I try to pick fights because I'm a little snot like that and he just listens and smiles back at me, and it ultimately ends up becoming laughs. It's quite comical and frustrating all at the same time. But basically I just want to know that we aren't the only couple who ends up hanging out by ourselves during the week night.

Today I'm linking up with two favorites, Kathy and Liz! Thank you ladies, you both give us a reason to blog on Wednesdays :)

The Hump Day Blog Hop

unexpected days off

So I thought I had something really juicy to reveal for Humpday confessions, but it turns out I really don't.

What I thought I was going to share was this:

I confess that, I'm "working at home today" and then taking my cat Peanut to the vet later.

While that is a borderline true story, it turns out, that I'm taking Peanut to the vet, and taking a vacation day. Wah....  I felt like I would have been living on the edge knowing I was home, and not really working, just casually monitoring my email while sunning myself in this glorious (yes I said it) heat.  But my conscience got to me and I pulled a goody-tooshoes and am taking a full on vacation day.  I mean, if I'm going to be outside tanning myself all day, wouldn't that look somewhat suspicious if I was working at home?

Meh. Moving on...

I confess that this is the absolute LAST year I will be buying target bathing suits. I am currently writing this post in this bathing suit.  Stupid thing was washed once and the dumb cup in the top is already flopping outwards. COME ON.  Please tell me you know what I'm talking about? Why does Target have to produce such cheap shit while being so irresistibly cute? TARGET = MONEY SUCKERS.

Target Swim Suit

I went to the gym yesterday. I didn't go once last week due to my stupid lady friend showing up midweek and giving me the cramps from hell. I only walked just under 2 miles but at various inclines.  I feel like I cheated on my body.  But I also did Tone It Up Bikini Series Arms work out as well as inner/outer thighs. Holy shit, are they still burning 2 days later! So, I don't know what that confession was other than I didn't work out as much as I should have, but having your lady friend come is a valid excuse, right?

I like being able to successfully peel off nail polish in one piece from my finger nails. Chipped nails are uglier than non-painted fingernails.  At quick glance, these could be mistaken for rose petals. HA, not.

I've been taking Melatonin before I go to bed.  I'm happy to report I feel like it's working.  I'm sleeping through the night and waking up more refreshed.

We keep our front window blinds half open so Peanut & Linus can sit on their cat stairs (they aren't ugly, see below) and look out over the bushes.  I get really creeped out when I'm sitting or laying down on the couch and the landscape people come and do work around the house.  I feel so weird when we make eye contact. So weird that even after I know they saw me, I sneak over to the window and close the blinds. Would you do the same? See example below.

So, pretty lame confessions, but I can't resist this link up!! Thank you Kathy for hosting! And I'm so excited to have contributed to the new button. Like I said, Ryan Gossling = so not THAT hot. Ian Somerhalder? YES PLEASE.

Humpty-Dumpty Confessions

So one thing I failed to mention in my weekend recap yesterday was that I read and finished The Fault in our Stars.  I bought it Friday afternoon and just finished it last night (Monday night).

Since it's Humpday confessions. . .

Vodka and Soda

I know this one is gonna get an uproar put on some people's shit lists but i just don't care...

but, I confess that I didn't think "The Fault in our Stars" was in the 'OH MY GOD, STOP WHAT YOUR DOING RIGHT NOW AND READ THIS BOOK' category. I'm sorry. It just wasn't.  I have read WAY better books.  With that said, I think the movie is going to be better.  Once it comes out in Redbox I will absolutely be renting it.  Because publicly crying is just not my thing.

P.S. I didn't cry reading the book.  But one of the major parts where I would have expected to, I was cycling at the gym so possibly I didn't want to look like an idiot.  Call me the devil but yeah, it just didn't wow me.

I confess that eating healthy sucks.  I miss my lay's potato chips and extra buttery popcorn. [editor's note: i ate lays potato chips last night]

I confess, that I really miss my long hair.  This humidity and short hair just isn't cutting it. And I really have some nerve to be complaining about humidity after the winter we had.  But confessions are for complaints right? For the most part?

Something I don't understand....why Essie's Bikini So Teeny is BLOWING up this summer? Wasn't it from like 2012? (p.s. i had to google that to pretend to be a know-it-all)

I'm getting really frustrated with people Craigslist. Because you know, I've been searching for a mountain bike and I've found so many good ones, at great prices, and by the time I email the owner, they are sold already. I emailed this man last night at 8pm and I still haven't received a response. HELLO, Is the bike available OR NOT? [editor's note again: apparently its sold because the ad is GONE]

Speaking of craigslist...I really liked the movie Craigslist Killer.  I know this was based on a true story, shame on me, but I love those Lifetime movies. You know what other one was good? The Perfect Husband (Starring former Clark Kent from Lois & Clark), and The Wrong Woman (starring Winnie Cooper).

I confess that I'd really like to kick Mother Nature's ass for blessing my face with 278 pimples...I don't know what's worst. Cystic acne on the chin that feels like a volcano ready to burst at any moment, or those stupid little shit pimps that can NEVER be popped because they are on weird meaty parts of your body (cheek, upper side above lip, your NECK, WHAT GIVES?!?!). Anyways, I'm hating her right now because again, pimples galore.

So, what else? I can't really think of anything at the moment. So this will have to do!

BYE!

Men, hold the door for a lady

Since it's already after lunchtime, it's highly likely that most have you have done your blogging for the day, so I'm already late to the confessions game that Kathy hosts...let's just jump in shall we.

I confess, that I get so so MAD, AGGRAVATED, PISSED, in a HUFFY puffy mood when a MAN doesn't hold a door for a WOMAN. It's common courtesy. What the F?

Story: Yesterday, I had my cross body bag on me, my travel bag (the black one seen here) stuffed to the brim, a tupperware container with my cell phone on top of it in my left hand, and in my right, juggling my water bottle, sunglasses and ID badge. This RUDE man was standing exactly to the right where I have to badge in...except he moved over to the left in front of the doors as soon as I swiped. So he moved to the left side of the doors, I had assumed he would of helped me but he stood there pretending to play on his phone till I literally STRUGGLED to open the doors...he then said "You got that?" and I had to kind of maneuver my way through the door, and I guess my big black bag socked him in the stomach, so much that he made an "oomph" noise. OOPS SERVES YOU RIGHT! I was so pissed I just yelled back "Sorry!" with that snotty girl attitude attached to it. Rude.

I confess, that I think I'm cancelling my RWJ Fitness membership, even though I just told you yesterday I would keep it.  The devil inside me is saying "Keep it, it has an olympic pool! When will you ever get to swim in that again! You bought those bathing suits for that! And goggles, and a swim cap! They have yoga classes! It's only 1 tank of gas a month!" but The angel inside is reminding me that it's $37 a month which amounts to approximately $480 a year which can be put towards other things.

I confess that sometimes it's really hard to come up with these confessions!! How do you people have so many secrets to tell!

Oh, I got one.... our work is taking away our desk side garbage cans and giving us this mini-size garbage with lids that are no bigger than a freaking container of lysol wipes.  It's in an effort to save money. So with that said, I confess that if my boss tells me to empty her garbage I will quit on the spot.

The countdown to Vegas is on (52 days!) and I'm for once, happy and seeing some results in my legs from all the running and walking I've been doing. Oh, and I've been eating healthy too. What the hell has gotten into me! I only caved once and got Applebee's....let's get serious, a girl has got to have some snacks.

The red notification number in my apps on the iphone makes me crazy and it can never be there.  It's so taunting. I get really pissed when numbers I don't know call me and I refuse to answer, and it will stay there until I open up my phone just to view it to remove it. It's so frustrating.  Why do I get frustrated at something like that? I have issues, what can I say.

I recently read Stephanie's post about her trip to the Bahamas {Staniel Cay}, and now I want to go swim with pigs!

I confess, that I really don't think Ryan Gossling is all that hot.  I think we need a new stud on the confessions link up for the second half 2014, don't you think so Kathy!?

humpday confessional

I know I just posted my recap from St. Lucia, but you know I have to link up for Humpday Confessions. It's really the best kind of link up!

Vodka and Soda

+I am somewhat ashamed that having my nails perfectly painted at all times is one of my biggest priorities. And how upset I get when I get the slightest smudge, chip, or piece of cat hair on them when they are still wet. It really can ruin my day!

+I get really pissed when I hear new songs that are rip offs of old ones. Even I though I like this song, it still annoys me. There are others too but I'm too lazy to find/think of them.

+Speaking of music, I can't understand how I don't know all the lyrics to the most iconic party song ever, Livin' on a Prayer, but I memorized the entire lyrics to We Didn't Start the Fire in just a couple days. Sorry Jon, I know you are shaking your head. I really do respect you as we both graduated from the same HS! (<-- true story!)  P.S. Billy, I'd be a perfect back up singer for you. Call me maybe?

+I think that I was born to be a nail salon painter. I really can paint a great french on both hands. See proof here:

+I get mildly frustrated when I have a major itch on my face after I just put on makeup + bronzer and it looks good.  I use a comb to take care of this problem. Ew.

+Peanut sleeps on my pillow every night. I love it but she takes up so much damn room.  But I'd rather have a sleepless night or a sore neck just to have her there. #crazycatlady

+When I see something whack as hell on FB or Instagram, I screen shot it and send it to my best friend questioning peoples' lives.

+I am so happy that it's spring but g-ddamn that freaking pollen makes me CRAZY. I just washed my car yesterday (stupid move) and this morning it looks like I drove through a forest of trees.

+I finished watching the 90210 series yesterday on Netflix. I cried like a friggen baby that it ended (and the ending wasn't even that great but I am glad Liam and Annie got engaged). Why must I cry so much when shows end?  You should have seen me at the end of HSM3....seriously. wow.

These are the things I just had to get out of my system. I feel so much better now! What are you confessing on this lovely humpday? Link up with Kathy so we can find out!

1st Humpday confessions!

My first ever Humpday Confessions. I got shit to get off my chest so let's just jump right into it.

+It pisses me off to no end that I can't work at home. and I cry (not really...but complain, yes) about it regularly.

+Scenario: 6 stalls in the bathroom. I'm in the stall on the far left next to the wall. Some IDIOT walks in and goes in stall immediately to my right. W T F

+11 days till my vacation. I can't wait to get the heck out of this place (work)

+I'm kind of cursing myself that I said I would DIY gel manicure instead of treating myself to the salon.  really though, i don't feel like spending the money, and mostly it's guilt because I got all new clothes for this vacation (I bargain shopped though!! that's got to count right?)

+I saw a buzzfeed article about the incoming freshman class this year, and how they will be the class of 2018. And that they probably have zero idea who/what all these 80's-90's things are.

+I really am becoming an introvert in my old age.  Why is it so hard to small talk with people? I just can't.

+I secretly love that my recent photo on instagram got so many likes :)  It made me feel good!

+Don't understand how such highly intelligent people have absolutely ZERO COMMON SENSE.

+I haven't gone food shopping in about 2 months and I really don't know how I come up with meals at this point. But it happens anyway!

+I wish it was noon so it would be acceptable to eat my tacos for lunch. I'm hungry.

+Speaking of tacos, I recently discovered fish tacos and they are AMAZING.

+I get extremely jealous when bloggers have the perfect gifs to go along with their blog posts. WHERE DO YOU FIND THEM. I SEARCH HOURS and find the same ones. EVERY TIME.

+Lastly, I kinda, sorta REALLY LOVE THIS LINK UP.  Thanks Kathy!
